Yamunotri
Yamunotri is a sacred Hindu shrine and the source of the Yamuna River in Uttarakhand, India. It is one of four pilgrimage sites in India known as the Char Dham Yatra, along with Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Yamunotri is located at an altitude of 3,293 meters (10,804 ft) in the Garhwal Himalayas, near the source of the Yamuna River. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Yamuna, who is considered to be the abode of the goddess. The temple is surrounded by natural hot water springs and beautiful mountain ranges.
Gangotri
Gangotri is a town in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India, and the source of the Ganges River, also known as Bhagirathi at its source. It’s located on the Greater Himalayan Range at an elevation of 3,100 meters, near Shivaling Peak and at the base of the Gangotri glacier. Gangotri is one of the four sites in the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit and is the seat of the goddess Ganga.
Kedarnath
Kedarnath is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. It is located at an altitude of 3,584 meters above sea level, on the banks of the Mandakini River, and is part of the Char Dhams and Panch Kedar. Kedarnath is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India.
Badrinath
Badrinath is a town in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, and the name of its temple, which is one of the 108 divya desams incarnations of the Hindu deity Vishnu. The temple is located in the Garhwal Himalayas, on the banks of the Alaknanda River, and is one of the four sites in India’s Char Dham pilgrimage. The temple is believed to have been established by sage Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, and is open for six months a year, but becomes inaccessible in winter due to heavy snowfall.
